Vacancy for a Political and Communications Officer

 

Job description (summary): as knowledge manager, communications officer and political advisor, the employee will be part of the political section of the embassy and will be responsible for checking media outlets and reporting on relevant political information, represent the mission in various activities and assist in the practical organisation of activities in the framework of the bilateral relations between Belgium and Israel.

Requirements:

  • Be administratively permitted to perform paid work in Israel.
  • Bachelor degree or equivalent relevant experience.
  • Very good oral and written knowledge of English, Hebrew and either Dutch or French.
  • Very good writing skills: able to produce clear, concise and well-structured reports.
  • Very good knowledge of the Israeli, Belgian and international press and of social media.
  • Good IT skills, in particular of Microsoft Outlook, SharePoint, Teams and Word.
  • Excellent planning, organisational and communication skills.
  • Team spirit, discretion and loyalty.

Will be considered as an asset during the selection procedure:

  • Relevant work experience, for example in the media field.
  • Additional relevant linguistic knowledge, especially Arabic.
  • Knowledge of the functioning of Belgian institutions and administration.
  • A network of relevant Israeli interlocutors.
  • Knowledge of diplomatic and consular affairs.

Contract: employment contract for a renewable duration of one year.

Working hours: 37.5 h/week.

Selection procedure:

  • First phase: analysis of applications and selection of candidates who will be invited for the written test.
  • Second phase: written test by the selected candidates.
  • Third phase: interview of the selected candidates.

Estimated start date: 1 February 2025.

Vacancy for a Qualified driver

 

Job description: the employee will be primarily responsible for the safe transport of people or property in a proactive and timely manner and will be in charge of vehicles and related repair and maintenance equipment. The employee might also serve as a technical, logistics and administrative support operative.

Requirements:

  • Be administratively permitted to perform paid work in Israel.
  • Primary education, preferably lower secondary education and/or relevant experience.
  • Driving licence: category B.
  • Very good driving skills.
  • Very good administrative skills.
  • Very good oral and written knowledge of Hebrew and English.
  • Being pro-active and able to work independently.
  • Discretion and loyalty.
  • Flexibility.

Will be considered as an asset during the selection procedure:

  • Relevant work experience.
  • Relevant training.
  • Additional relevant linguistic knowledge.
  • Knowledge of diplomatic and consular affairs.
